Dry freight body kits

Presentation

The first production workshop for truck and trailer body kits was initiated in 1969. The company 'Manufacture Métallurgique de Tournus', a Pechiney daughter company, then acquired the necessary machinery and tools to start the production. During the first years this unit produces one hundred Dry Freight van body kits a year.

In 1980, the complete production unit with a capacity of 300 box van body kits a year is sold and a new industrial site is established in Vonnas, this is the beginning of PALKIT. Investment and new organisation lead to a quick increase of the production capacity. In 1998, 20 body kits were produced every day and 40% of the turnover exported.

A second relocation as well as a complete reengineering of the production lines became necessary in 1998 in order to maintain the company growth and to establish PALKIT as one of the major truck and trailer body kits manufacturer in Europe.

The acquisition in 2006 by the LIBNER group, located at St Maixent l'Ecole enables the company PALKIT to make a fresh start, acquisition of modern production facilities, reduction of the inventory and saving in production time, development of a new range of box van body kits.

The PALKIT company's reputation was built on its technical and technological know-how, on its large experience in the commercial vehicle body business and the reactivity, the adaptability of its workforce.
